The Sirens’ Call

Artistic Direction by Bengü Gün | DiaEterna

21 October 2026

Starbucks, Tersane İstanbul

Commissioned for Starbucks' first flagship store in Türkiye after Rome and Madrid, The Sirens’ Call is a site-specific art project developed by DiaEterna and curated by Bengü Gün at Tersane Istanbul, on the historic shores of the Golden Horn.

Drawing on the area's maritime heritage, the mythology of the Siren, and the journeys of coffee across cultures, the project explores the relationship between water, memory, and transformation. Three commissioned artworks by Gökçe İrten, Furkan Depeli, and DECOL Media Arts Studio bring together ceramics, sculpture, and digital media, each offering a distinct interpretation of the site's history and contemporary identity.

Gökçe İrten's Poros explores memory and transformation through a layered ceramic composition. Furkan Depeli's Act of Clinamen brings marble and reflective steel into dialogue, examining the relationship between material, movement, and balance. DECOL's Tidal Memory translates the changing environmental conditions of the Golden Horn into a large-scale digital installation, where water, light, and time become a continuously evolving visual narrative.

Bringing together artistic research, curatorial direction, and multidisciplinary production, DiaEterna developed a cohesive artistic experience that extends beyond individual artworks. The Sirens’ Call connects contemporary artistic practices with the layered history of its setting, inviting visitors to encounter the space through new perspectives.
